About Us - Moran Hotels Ireland & UK
Moran Hotels is a group of four star hotels located in Dublin, London & Cork that are owned and operated by the Moran Family. Each of the hotels is strategically located, offers outstanding facilities; but most significantly is well-known for the exceptional hospitality bestowed upon guests. After spending 15 years in London managing pubs Tom Moran returned to Ireland with his family in the early 1980’s to run a large music hall. However, it was in 1988 that Tom Moran hit the headlines and has since become famous as ‘the man who bought Ireland’s first million pound pub’. After the acquisition of the Red Cow Inn, Dublin, he built up a portfolio of successful pubs but was soon looking for his next challenge. In 1996 he opened the group’s flag ship hotel – the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin. He subsequently acquired a branded Cork hotel in 1999 and redeveloped it - today the Silver Springs Moran Hotel is one of the largest conference venues in Southern Ireland. Later that year he made his first international acquisition – The Crown pub in Cricklewood, London which he refurbished and also developed an adjacent hotel. The latest addition is the Chiswick Moran Hotel, London, which opened in 2006 – formerly it was a derelict office building but after the ‘Moran touch’ it has been nominated for a prestigious design award. RECENT ACQUISTION OF BEWLEYS HOTELS In March 2008 the Moran Group purchased Bewleys Hotels; a group of six hotels located across Dublin, Leeds and Manchester. This latest acquisition brings the total number of bedrooms owned by the group to just shy of 2,500. |
